Purple Luminair permanent lighting scene across a double garage and roofline on a northeast Calgary home at night

Saddle Ridge, Savanna, Cornerstone, Redstone, and Skyview Ranch make up a big share of Calgary’s far northeast, east of the airport around Stoney Trail and Country Hills Boulevard. Saddle Ridge filled in through the 2000s and 2010s; Skyview Ranch, Cornerstone, Redstone, and Savanna are mostly 2010s builds, with some phases still filling in. The housing is mainly two-storeys with front double garages, laned homes, semi-detached pairs, and townhouse rows. Permanent lights go up once, read as trim in daylight, and give you warm white every night and colour for Diwali, Christmas, or any celebration you schedule in the app.

This page is the neighbourhood deep-dive for these northeast communities. The wider picture is in permanent Christmas lights in NE Calgary; across Deerfoot to the north-central side are Evanston, Sage Hill and Nolan Hill and Panorama Hills and Coventry Hills, and just east of the city are Chestermere and Langdon. What a permanent system is

A professional permanent system is colour-matched aluminum track fastened along the fascia or soffit, with fully sealed IP68 LED modules sitting inside the channel. A dedicated warm-white channel handles everyday architectural light, and colour channels cover Christmas, Halloween, Diwali, Canada Day, Flames nights, or whatever you schedule in the app. In daylight the track reads as part of the trim. Nothing is clipped to an eavestrough, and nothing comes down in January.

Where we work in far-northeast Calgary

  • Saddle Ridge and Savanna. Two-storeys with front double garages, laned homes, and semi-detached rows; the older Saddle Ridge streets are now 15 to 20-plus years old.
  • Cornerstone. 2010s two-storeys, laned product, and townhouses, with many front-garage homes on curving crescents.
  • Redstone. Newer two-storeys and laned homes, with some larger front-garage homes and multi-gable fronts.
  • Skyview Ranch. A mix of front-garage two-storeys, laned homes, semi-detached pairs, and townhouse rows.

One system for every celebration

Northeast Calgary lights up for more than Christmas. With a permanent system the same track handles Diwali in the fall, Christmas and New Year’s, Vaisakhi or Eid, Canada Day, Stampede week, and Flames nights. You save scenes in the app and schedule them by date, so there is no second set of strings to hang. See permanent Diwali lights in Calgary and year-round colours.

Front garages, laned homes, and shared walls

Front-garage two-storeys usually have a long run across the garage plus an upper eave and one or more gables. Most owners light the street-facing side first and decide on side or rear eaves separately. Laned homes put the garage at the back, so the porch and upper eave carry the look; we plan the power route from the controller to the front at the measure.

Semi-detached homes and townhouses share a roofline with a neighbour. We light your side of the shared eave, and some owners co-ordinate with the neighbour so the whole building matches. If there is a condo board or association, check its rules first. More in Calgary townhouses and duplexes and Calgary HOA rules.

Homes with a secondary suite. If your basement or garage suite has its own entrance or outlets, tell us at the quote so we place the controller on the main household’s power and keep the wiring clear of the suite entrance.

Newer homes and builder warranty

Many homes here are only a few years old, which is a good time to install: the fascia is usually in good shape and you can pick a track colour against the current trim. If the builder still has warranty or punch-list work on the exterior, or the street is still being finished, we can plan around it. See permanent Christmas lights on new builds in Calgary.

Open-prairie wind and chinook ice

The far-northeast communities sit on open land at the city’s edge, and wind across the prairie loads anything clipped to an eavestrough. Chinook thaws then send meltwater to the gutter line, where it refreezes overnight. Fastened aluminum track with sealed IP68 modules has no loose wire to catch the wind and nothing for meltwater to pool in, and the system carries a 10-year warranty on the track, LED modules, and controller. What it costs

Price depends on the linear footage of eave you want lit, the number of gables and peaks, and how the high runs are reached—not on the community name. Published Canadian industry ranges commonly sit around $3,000 to $6,000 for a front-facing install; on many average two-storey Calgary homes the conversation often lands near $4,000 to $5,000. Short townhouse and laned fronts can come in lower; wide double-garage fronts, multi-gable roofs, walkout rear eaves, or full-home coverage run higher. Those are industry ranges for context, not a Luminair quote. Luminair measures your roofline and gives a fixed price. See the Calgary permanent Christmas lights cost guide.

Common questions

Does Luminair install permanent lights in Saddle Ridge, Cornerstone, and Redstone?

Yes. Saddle Ridge, Savanna, Cornerstone, Redstone, Skyview Ranch, and nearby northeast Calgary streets are part of the Calgary-area service area. Request a quote and we will confirm scheduling for your address.

Can the same lights do Diwali and Christmas?

Yes. The colour channels run any scene you save in the app, so you can schedule Diwali, Christmas, New Year’s, Vaisakhi, Eid, Canada Day, or game nights, and warm white the rest of the year.

How much do permanent lights cost on a northeast Calgary two-storey?

It depends on linear footage of eave, gables, and access rather than the neighbourhood. Published industry ranges are roughly $3,000 to $6,000 for a front-facing install, and many average two-storeys land near $4,000 to $5,000. Luminair measures and gives a fixed price.

Can you install on half of a semi-detached home?

Yes. We light your side of the shared roofline, and you can co-ordinate with your neighbour if you want the whole building to match. Check condo or association rules first if any apply.

Will permanent lights hold up to prairie wind in the far northeast?

The track is fastened to the fascia or soffit and the LED modules are sealed, so there is no loose wire to catch the wind or clips to ice in. The system carries a 10-year warranty on track, modules, and controller.
