About LuminairWe started in 2024 because the good version of this product did not exist
Permanent outdoor lighting was already being sold across Canada when we started. We looked hard at what homeowners were actually getting, decided we could build something considerably better, and did. Over 250 homes later, that is still the whole idea.
What we insisted on
Most of the disappointment with permanent lighting comes down to four decisions the manufacturer made long before an installer arrives at your house. We made them differently.
White that is actually white
A lot of systems produce white by mixing red, green and blue at full tilt. It reads slightly wrong on a house and it is the reason some installations look like a novelty rather than architecture. Every Luminair module carries a dedicated warm-white emitter alongside the colour diodes. Warm white is its own channel, not an approximation of one, and warm white is what most owners run three hundred nights a year.
Sealing rated for standing water, not splashes
Our modules are sealed to IP68, the top of the ingress-protection scale, meaning continuous immersion rather than resistance to a bit of rain. That matters more in Southern Ontario than people expect, because our winters hover around freezing instead of sitting below it and meltwater pools along a soffit line for hours at a time. There is a longer piece on why that is the hard part.
Track that disappears
The fixtures sit inside precision-formed aluminum track, colour-matched to your soffit and fascia. Not a white plastic channel screwed to the front of the house. In daylight most visitors cannot find it, which is the entire point of calling it permanent: you are not agreeing to look at hardware for eleven months in exchange for six weeks of lights.
A warranty that assumes it lasts
Ten years on track, modules and controller, against a system built for a 25-year service life. A one-season warranty tells you what the company expects to happen. Ours tells you what we expect.
What we have done since
More than 250 homes lit since 2024: bungalows and two-storeys, stucco and cedar and stone, straightforward garage rooflines and houses with five gables and a wraparound porch. The gallery is the honest version of that, including the close-ups of the track in daylight, which is the photograph most companies would rather you did not look at.
How we work
- We measure before we price. You get a fixed written quote based on your actual roofline, not a number over the phone that moves on install day.
- Most homes are finished in one day. Measurement, colour-matched track, mounting, wiring, controller setup.
- Nobody leaves until you can drive the app. Scenes, schedules, zones, and how to change your mind in February.
- Then nothing. No takedown in January, no storage, no rebooking next October.
Where we install
Luminair is based in the Greater Toronto Area and installs across it directly. Outside the GTA, our dealer network covers Alberta and other markets.

Not on the list but nearby? Ask anyway. If we cannot get to you we will say so rather than waste your time.
Working with us other ways
Homeowners who refer us earn $2 per foot of installed track for every neighbour who goes ahead, with no cap on how many.
Installers and exterior trades can sell and install Luminair in their own market through the dealer program. Training, territory, support, no franchise fee.
Builders, realtors and developers work with us through the partner program, usually on curb appeal and twilight listing photography.
