What we collect, and why

What we collect

When you fill in a form. Your name, phone number, email address, home address, the enquiry type you picked, and anything you write in the message box. That is all we ask for and all we get.

When you use the preview tool. Nothing. Photos you upload to preview lighting on your home are processed entirely inside your browser. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and they disappear when you close the tab.

When you browse. Two things measure this site, and they work differently.

Vercel records anonymous, aggregated page statistics: which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world from, what kind of device, and how quickly pages loaded. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you.

Google Analytics records how you arrived at the site, which pages you visited, and whether you submitted a quote form. It does set cookies, and it recognises a returning browser across visits using a randomly generated identifier. It is not given your name, email, phone number, or address. We use it to see which sources actually bring us enquiries, so we know where to spend our effort.

Why we collect it

Form details are used for one thing: to contact you about the enquiry you sent and to prepare a quote. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask, and we do not sell, rent, or share your details with anyone for marketing.

Page statistics are used to see which pages are useful and which are slow, so the site gets better.

Who processes it

We keep the list of companies involved as short as we can.

• Web3Forms delivers form submissions to our inbox. Your form details pass through their service on the way to us.
• Vercel hosts the site and provides the cookieless page statistics described above.
• Google Analytics provides the cookie-based visit statistics described above. Google processes this data on its own infrastructure under its own terms.
• Our email provider stores the message once it reaches us, the same way any email you send us would be stored.

If we ever start using a CRM or scheduling tool that touches your details, this page gets updated before that happens.

How long we keep it

Enquiries stay in our inbox and records for as long as we may reasonably need them, so we can honour warranty claims and pick up a conversation you started earlier. If you ask us to delete your details, we will.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Email info@luminairlights.ca and we will handle it. You do not need a special form or a particular form of words.

If you would rather not be counted by Google Analytics, you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on, block cookies for this site in your browser settings, or use private browsing. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

Children

This site is meant for homeowners and businesses. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
