Warm white Luminair permanent lights along the soffit of a stucco two-storey in north Calgary in winter

Panorama Hills, Coventry Hills, Country Hills, Harvest Hills, and Hidden Valley make up a big stretch of north-central Calgary on either side of Harvest Hills Boulevard, between Country Hills Boulevard and Stoney Trail. Most homes went up from the 1990s through the 2010s: stucco two-storeys with front double garages, bungalows and bi-levels on quieter crescents, and townhouse rows near the main roads. Permanent lights go up once, read as trim in daylight, and give you warm white every night and holiday colour when you want it—no ladder on an icy driveway every November.

This page is the neighbourhood deep-dive for these north-central communities. Panorama Hills, Country Hills, and Hidden Valley carry NW addresses, so the wider picture is in permanent Christmas lights in NW Calgary; Coventry Hills and Harvest Hills are NE, covered in NE Calgary. Just west, see Evanston, Sage Hill and Nolan Hill. The city overview is permanent Christmas lights in Calgary.

What a permanent system is

A professional permanent system is colour-matched aluminum track fastened along the fascia or soffit, with fully sealed IP68 LED modules sitting inside the channel. A dedicated warm-white channel handles everyday architectural light, and colour channels cover Christmas, Halloween, Diwali, Canada Day, Flames nights, or whatever you schedule in the app. In daylight the track reads as part of the trim. Nothing is clipped to an eavestrough, and nothing comes down in January.

Where we work in north-central Calgary

  • Panorama Hills. Two-storeys with front double garages, ridge lots with views over the city, and walkouts backing onto ponds and green space. Rear eaves on walkouts often sit a full storey higher than the front.
  • Coventry Hills. A mix of two-storeys, bi-levels, and townhouse complexes on curving crescents, many with a long garage run across the front elevation.
  • Country Hills and Harvest Hills. Some of the older streets in the area, with bungalows, split-levels, and two-storeys from the 1990s. Roofs tend to be simpler, and fascia may have had 25-odd years of weather on it.
  • Hidden Valley. Two-storeys and bungalows along the valley slopes on the west side of Harvest Hills Boulevard, with some sloped lots and stepped rooflines.

Homes that are 15 to 30 years old

Most homes here are past the new-build stage, which matters in two ways. First, the track fastens to the fascia or soffit, so we look at its condition at the quote. Aluminum-capped fascia is usually fine; if a section is soft, loose, or was damaged in a past hailstorm, it is better to fix it before the lights go on. Second, many owners in these communities have already replaced shingles, eavestroughs, or siding after hail. If a roofing or eavestrough job is planned, put the lights on after it so nothing has to be removed and refitted. More on that in permanent lights and Calgary hail and the maintenance guide.

Stucco is the most common finish in the area. Because the track sits on the fascia or under the soffit, the stucco wall itself is not drilled for the roofline run. For how it looks in daylight against different trim colours, see permanent soffit lighting in Calgary.

North-end weather on these rooflines

The ridges in Panorama Hills and the open land toward Stoney Trail catch wind, and like the rest of the city these streets swing between deep cold and chinook thaws, with meltwater refreezing along the gutter line overnight. Clipped seasonal strings do poorly with that. Fastened aluminum track with sealed modules has no loose wire to catch the wind and nothing for meltwater to pool in, and the system carries a 10-year warranty on the track, LED modules, and controller. More in Calgary winters, chinooks, and snow load.

Planning a Panorama Hills or Coventry Hills install

  • Front first. Price follows linear footage, so most owners light the street-facing eave and garage first and decide on side or rear eaves separately.
  • Walkouts and ridge lots. Mention a walkout or high rear eave at the quote so we plan the right ladder and staging.
  • Bi-levels and split-levels. Stepped rooflines can be lit as one continuous look or by level; see permanent lights on bungalows and split-levels.
  • Townhouses. Check with your condo board first; see Calgary townhouses and duplexes.
  • Community guidelines. Some streets here fall under a community or residents’ association; check whether any exterior guidelines apply before booking. See permanent Christmas lights and Calgary HOA rules.

What it costs

Price depends on the linear footage of eave you want lit, the number of gables and peaks, and how the high runs are reached—not on the community name. Published Canadian industry ranges commonly sit around $3,000 to $6,000 for a front-facing install; on many average two-storey Calgary homes the conversation often lands near $4,000 to $5,000. Short townhouse fronts and simple bungalows can come in lower; wide double-garage fronts, multi-gable roofs, walkout rear eaves, or full-home coverage run higher. Those are industry ranges for context, not a Luminair quote. Luminair measures your roofline and gives a fixed price. See the Calgary permanent Christmas lights cost guide.

Common questions

Does Luminair install permanent Christmas lights in Panorama Hills and Coventry Hills?

Yes. Panorama Hills, Coventry Hills, Country Hills, Harvest Hills, Hidden Valley, and nearby north-central Calgary streets are part of the Calgary-area service area. Request a quote and we will confirm scheduling for your address.

How much do permanent lights cost on a Panorama Hills two-storey?

It depends on linear footage of eave, gables, and access rather than the neighbourhood. Published industry ranges are roughly $3,000 to $6,000 for a front-facing install, and many average two-storeys land near $4,000 to $5,000. Walkout rear eaves and full-home coverage run higher. Luminair gives a fixed quote after measuring.

My home is 20+ years old. Can it still get permanent lights?

Yes. The track fastens to the fascia or soffit, so we check its condition at the quote. Sound fascia is fine; soft or hail-damaged sections are best repaired first, and any planned roofing or eavestrough work should be done before the lights go on.

Do permanent lights work on stucco homes?

Yes. The track sits on the fascia or under the soffit, not on the stucco wall, and is colour-matched to your trim so it blends in during the day.

Will permanent lights hold up to wind and chinooks in north Calgary?

The track is fastened to the fascia or soffit and the LED modules are sealed to IP68, so there are no loose strings to catch wind or fill with meltwater. The system carries a 10-year warranty on the track, modules, and controller.
